A naming ceremony carries with it a great deal of social tradition. It has no legal significance because the child's name would already have been registered and recorded on their birth certificate.
There is no religious component either unless the parents choose to include elements based on their own faith or faiths.
It is, rather, an opportunity to introduce your child to his or her extended family and friends.
As part of the ceremony, 'life guardians' might be appointed for the child. Again, this is a social responsibility not a legal or binding one.
I'll be happy to talk with you about your options for welcoming your child through their naming ceremony.
